Sometimes it's hard to remember that Zendaya Coleman is fresh (as in only a month) out of high school. The actress/singer seems to be pretty wise and grounded for her age, but then we remember: we can't even buy her a drink. Which is why she makes a pretty good spokesperson for adidas' new adigirl Collection. The new apparel line designed specifically for the powerful, multi-faceted teen that she is. This collection intends to address the needs of a young lady's demanding lifestyle, uniting sport with style. The line—a first of its kind—combines key performance attributes with street style detailing to create a unique, versatile assortment of pieces that bring sport into everyday life.
Says Kate Ridley, Vice President of adidas Training, "The launch of this collection is a part of our ongoing dedication to the female athlete and the way we both speak and create product specifically with her in mind."
Zendaya, a known fashionista and budding style icon, lends her star power to a line which combines Adidas’ performance technology with streetwear designs for teen athletes. Wearing a bright coral jersey (one of her favorites from the line) with a pair of heels and rolled up jeans, she sat alongside athletes T’erea Brown, Erika Tymrak, and Louisa Chirico who shared their past experiences of lackluster athletic apparel that was as technically inefficient as it was unappealing.
“As a fashion girl or somebody’s who’s into fashion, I think it’s really cool for young women to be able to express themselves on and off the court or the field,” Zendaya told MTV News at the event.
