Jordan Brand has an elite group of athletes that represent what they are all about. One of those athletes really stands out to us and that is WNBA Allstar Maya Moore of the Minnesota Lynx. She is the first woman basketball player that signed to Jordan Brand. Maya is known as a force to be reckoned with on the court and picked #1 overall when drafted into the WNBA. While Maya has been signed with the Jumpman since 2011, we have seen her rock multiple Jordan player exclusive (PE) kicks.
In 2015, Maya received the opportunity to create her first PE retail release in a Jordan 1 silhouette. Now, two years later, she will drop a signature Jordan 1 for girls.
This iteration of the Jordan 1 "Maya Moore" has a Wolf Grey suede upper with matching greyscale safari print wrapping around the heel. The grey hue sits on a white midsole and has bright Fuschia Flash color contrasts found on the inner lining, outsole, and MM branding on the tongue and heel. The look is completed with a metallic silver Nike Swoosh.
What are your thoughts on Maya's upcoming Jordan? I love a Jordan 1 silhouette, but I am up in the air about this one. Maybe it's the addition of hot pink on the sneaker, but I am still scratching my head. While it is a girls grade school exclusive, I would love to see what Jordan could do with a women's version. It is completely OK to separate us from grade school sizing. Feel me? These are set to drop for $95 USD on 9/30.
