Every week, 'Fit Chicks' will highlight attire, tips, and (of course!) sneakers that make it perfect for you to get your sweat on in style. We’ll also hip you to some of our favorite weekend hang sessions and interactions with like-minded ladies because, we love showing love!


With so much going on in the world, we have literally wanted unplug from the grid (social media, the 24 hour news cycle, etc) and, if we’re being honest, life in general.  We're tired of adulting! But,  that isn’t realistic - especially when you have a business to run and responsibilities to tend to. Running away is definitely not the answer. So, all week we have been tending to our spirits in an attempt to recenter and turn a negative into a positive both in ourselves and others in the process.  That said, we decided to share two of our favorite ways to reboot, refuel and refocus!

Prayer and Meditation

Despite everything going on in the world, we are still firm believers that prayer changes things. There are times when we both have wavered in our faith and you have to understand that prayer doesn’t equal instant rewards or even a guarantee that you will get what you want, but you better believe you will be getting what you need! The practice of meditation is a game changer as well and, when executed correctly (meaning you truly focus on an object worthy of consideration) can really bring you clarity and help you focus your energy.

Affirmations


Affirmations are the process of declaring that something is true. The power of your tongue is real, y’all.

You have to fix your mind to believe that you deserve greatness, not just say it but truly believe it.

The goal is to find a sentence or phrase that you repeat regularly. This signifies that you are declaring not only to yourself, but the universe, that you are destined for greatness.  And, even more: you are a conqueror. We all have thing a Reticular Activating System (RAS), which is sort of like our brain’s way of filtering information that we need from information that we don’t. So, when you continue to tell yourself positive things, your brain will help register those things and, BOOM!

Visualize it as complete
Feel the feelings

Guys, you have to take care of yourself - especially your mental health. If these things don’t work for you, please try to find something that helps to cultivate peace and positivity when your world gets too hectic. You owe yourself that much.
