As I was scrolling through our past Sneaker Diary posts, I realized something: we've never highlighted anything from the Air Jordan family in one of our SD drops. That all changes TUHHDAY with one of my favorite Retros...EVER.

When I was a kid, my mother kept me on a strict (and budget-friendly) leash in the sneaker department. Cortez's and the occiasional Air Max 90 were within my perameters. Jordan's were not. I still browsed my Eastbay magazing faithfully and attempted to finesse a Jay faithfully - it didn't work. So, when I reached my 20's and started making my own skrilla I made sure to grab a few re-releases that had been denied me in my youth - which, served me best because my foot was done growing so - this cool 6Y GS will fit forever. I guess I have mom to thank. LOOK. AT. GOD.

This week, the sneaker world has been in a bit of a frenzy thanks to the scheduled re-release of the Air Jordan 3 Retro OG "Cement." Making it's mark in 1988 as MJ's MVP sneaker of choice, the Black Cement is considered by some to be a grail and is a rare find for many sneaker lovers. I grabbed mine up in the last drop back in 2011 and I didn't look back. So, it was only fitting that before it drops on Saturday, February 17th , we pay homage to one of Tinker's greatest designs.

I knew I was shooting these right after a Galentine's brunch I was set to attend with a few other Dallas bloggers (shout out to the beautiful Aquia for planning THE BEST blogger brunches!) so, I wanted to jazz up the fit a bit while still being able to pull off these 3's which, for us ladies, don't quite go with everything. It's been pretty chilly in Dallas so I opted for a loose black t-shirt dress, an army green waterfall jacket, and a pair of opaque black pantyhose because dresses in 32 degree weather are not the business. I topped it all off with a mean red lip and my favorite winter coat: a Nike Sportswear Tech Fleece AeroLoft Down Parka Jacket that I received almost two years ago. During the winter, I wear it with EVERYTHING. Unfortunetly, everything I'm wearing here is about 2 years old so, they are no longer in stores HOWEVER, you can shop similar looks here , here , and here .

While I'm pretty content with my Jordan Collection, I'll probably start wearing the ones that I have a bit more than I have been and I'll DEFINITELY be grabbing something from Jordan Brand's #SeasonOfHer and the forthcoming Jordan Woman collection. Hopefully, that means more Sneaker Diaries with the Jumpman - stay tuned!

P.S. If you're interested in shopping the Air Jordan 3 Retro OG "Cement" it releases in a Mens, GS, and Little Kids size run on Saturday, February 17th at 9:00 AM EST on the Nike SNKRS App and via designated Jordan Brand retailers. Make sure you sign up for notifications as these will go FAST.

In case you're looking to shop, I've place links to everything in this post (and similar items) below. Good luck copping your threes!
