This Reeboks Classic x Montana Cans Is A Street Dream
There is a blurred line between art and sneaker culture because they overlap in a variety of ways. Just this year, we have highlighted artists who have blended the two niches creating limitless creativity. From our Chick Chats with Lil' Giana who created fly artwork using sneakers and high end streetwear; to painter Taylor Bailey who slayed the canvas while rockin' cool kicks. Even Sue Tsai married her artistic passion with love for women's fashion. Art is always intertwined within sneaker culture, starting with a shoe design.
Reeboks Classic took this notion and created a collaboration straight from the streets. The Reebok Classic Leather has always been a staple sneaker, and Montana Cans has been a staple paint supplier when it comes to the graffiti art world. Personally, I thought this project was fresh and definitely something different. The two brands drop two different sneakers with soft leather uppers and different spraypaint motifs in black/white.
The white colorway features a spraypainted effect in black on the Reebok logo. The black colorway is made of a black paint dipped front end that slowly transitions into a cracked paint effect leading into a white back half. Under the tongue tag there is a patch that reads "Shake Well" which is a clever detail.
