Following a highly sought-after streetwear collection with Heron Preston, NASA is back in the circuit with a sneaker collab we didn’t know we needed. Vans and the Space Administration have teamed up to release a spacesuit themed collection for the astronaut in all of us. These space themes floating around the streetwear and sneaker culture are unexpected but end up working out and looking really cool. I’m instantly reminded of Tom Sachs and Nike’s Mars Yard. This Vans x NASA collection takes the space themes to a new level and it’s all about the details.

Consisting of two colorways each of the Old Skool and Sk8-Hi, there is a look for everyone. The Old Skool, arriving in orange and white, features a muted base to give attention to all the NASA-themed details. Details include an American flag patch on the heel, JFK Space Center stamping on the sides and “Shuttle Mission” tags on the tongue. The Sk8-Hi has such an 80s vibe. Available in white and black, the sneakers are covered in retro NASA patches. Details on the Sk8-Hi include a Velcro Vans patch on the tongue and the NASA motto, “for the benefit of all,” printed on the heel. Take a look at the full collection below!

This collection beautifully merged the two worlds of space exploration and skate sneakers. The detail work that went into this collaboration is stunning. Slated to release November 2, the sneakers will retail for $125 for the Old Skool and $150 for the Sk8-Hi. Are these space ready kicks a cop or can for you? If these are must cop, you can SHOP THE COLLECTION below on release day!
