Jordan Brand Gets Ready to Drop the Air Jordan Retro 3 'Katrina'
This year started off strong with the highly anticipated return of the Air Jordan 3 in the black cement colorway. From the release to our CNK Sneaker Diary, it's safe to say the classic Air Jordan 3 silhouette makes it's way onto our wishlists time and time again. A new Air Jordan 3 is slated to release this week, but it may not be a stranger to some of us.
The Air Jordan 3 (AKA 'Katrina') is hitting the shelves very soon and it holds a special story behind it. Originally its crisp white/red/cement colorway was designed as a Player Edition sneaker, but was auctioned off to support Nike's relief efforts during Hurricane Katrina. The devastating storm impacted many lives in the South and gained global attention with various community relief initiatives. The AJ3 'Katrina' was also featured in the Basketball Hall of Fame when Michael Jordan was inducted. Check out the snaps below.
Now, the public is able to purchase the Air Jordan 3 'Katrina' as it drops this weekend on 5/12 with a grade school sizing price tag of $140 USD. Set your reminders and SHOP THE SNEAKS below on release day. Note: For grade school sizing on the SNKRS app, scroll past the NOTIFY ME button on adult sizes and you will see an alert feature for BG (grade school) sizing.
