Cop or Can: Adidas Continental 80

Image: Naked CPH

This summer has been a season of rediscovery for Adidas. The brand has given new life to a lot of retro sneakers and I’m super excited to see what they dig up next. The OG Continental 80 was released in the late 80s, hence the name, and has become a modern crowd favorite because of those Yeezy Powerphase vibes. The new iteration of this shoe was initially going to be called “the Rascal” but in attempt to keep this shoe as close to the 80s version as possible, it kept the original name. I love classic silhouettes, so this sneaker is right up my alley. This classic sneakHER is casual, yet sporty and stays true to those 1980s roots.

This classic indoor sneaker is being labeled as a re-issue and is an exact copy of the OG with a few updates. The Continental 80 is available in three colorways: White, Off-White and Core Black. Each shoe features a super soft leather upper with perforations on the toe box and sides. The most 80s thing about this shoe has to be the French terry lining and the logo window next to the laces. Creating a monochromatic aesthetic, the laces, lining and leather are all the same color on each model. The standout element on these shoes is the red and navy trim on the sides of the sneaker. These kicks are finished off with a classic EVA midsole. Peep these retro sneakers below.

This re-issue was released on June 21st and retails for $80 USD. The retro silhouette is growing on me and I could definitely see it in my sneakHER rotation for more casual days. If you’re feeling it too, you can cop a pair for yourself via the SHOP THE SNEAKS button below!
