Celebrate Mickey’s 90th Birthday with Vans
Following the nostalgia induced by Converse’s ultra-cute Hello Kitty collaboration, Van’s is keeping that same energy with its newest collection. Celebrating the 90th anniversary of Disney’s Mickey Mouse, the skate brand has partnered with four artists to create a collection that features their own interpretations of the iconic character. Mickey Mouse was a staple in so many of our childhoods and what’s a better way to celebrate his birthday than with a fresh pair of sneakers?
This new collection will feature artwork from illustrators, John Van Hamersveld and Geoff McFetridge, artist, Taka Hayashi and tattoo artist, Mister Cartoon. Each artist shared their interpretation of Mickey through a pair of Sk8-Hi’s and a short sleeve shirt to match. There will be a design for everyone as each artist has their own distinct style. In speaking about his time creating his interpretation of Mickey, Geoff McFetridge explained,
