#MJMondays The Air Jordan 1 Low Isn't For Everyone
If you are familiar with our CNK series ‘My Sneaker Story’, then you may have caught my ode to the Air Jordan 1. The original ‘Shattered Backboard’ wasn’t available in my size, but Jordan Brand made up for it with the reverse colorway and satin iteration for the ladies. The popular SBB colorway took the Air Jordan 1 by storm and positioned itself in sneaker lovers Top 5 lists of all time grails.
Recently, the Jumpman has been pushing the low top version of the Air Jordan 1, and it continues to cause a stir of opinionated debates. While the low top Air Jordan 1 may not be for everyone, the fact of the matter for me, is that the sell is all in the convenience. Let me explain. As a mom of three, I need comfort and easy access when running around with a tribe in tow. I still want to be fly, but lacing up my beloved Air Jordan 1s for the grocery store isn’t always the ideal choice.
This Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Shattered Backboard’ silhouette serves up a colorway that’s great for any season with orange/black/white colorblocking. Before you all start asking if it's SBB leather quality, there are variations in Jordan branding (like the Jumpman on the tongue) versus Nike Air. The point is not to beat up sneakers that we’re not particularly used to, despite unpopular opinion. I’ve found a way to make my sneakers work for me, and these would end up as frequently used ‘beaters’, like many Forces become.
What’s your take on the Air Jordan 1 Low SBB? Another plus is the price point is under $100, which our fine and frugal crew should love. Keep it locked as we get more release information on this pair. Until then, check out more Jordans styles below!
