Last month, Converse and A-COLD-WALL* (ACW*) teamed up to bring us a collection that explored an evolved modernism through material exploration and a subdued color palette. One of the stand out items were the Chuck Taylor All Star Lugged, a shoe that used the best techniques of modern craftsmanship and is ready to whether anything. The Converse x ACW* collection is influenced by Britain’s underground street culture and vivid landscapes, fusing the worlds of basketball, Brutalist architecture, and natural environments with fine tailoring and precise construction. The All Star Lugged in particular takes inspiration from Ross’ hiking trips across the mountainous terrain of the Caribbean in his adolescence and his desire to create an All Star that was more hard-wearing. The weathered black All Star Lugged features rugged nylon, zig-zag stitching, and a thick rubber outsole.
