Nike's N7 2020 Collection
Nike has released collections in the past that have shed light on important topics. In their continued effort to make societal change, Nike created the N7 Fund in 2009. The N7 Fund supports organizations that deliver programs and services aimed at increasing physical activity and supporting education and career development for youth in Indigenous communities in North America. Nike’s N7 Collection features footwear and apparel that is inspired by medicinal plants that include aloe, yucca, wild rose, dandelion, and prickly pear and highlights their natural beauty.
The Nike N7 Collection features a sneakHER lineup that includes the Air Max 90, the Venture Runner, the Benassi Slide, and Kyrie 6’s. The Air Max 90 features color reveal suede that allows for a 1 of 1 design that adds vibrancy and texture and is accompanied by an airy mesh toe box and green and crimson accents. The Venture Runner has an overall retro track style with floral print, crimson accents, and a mesh and velvety suede construction. The Benassi Slide is a classic silhouette that gets revamped with a vibrant, electric green sole and a single strap constructed of color reveal suede. The Kyrie 6 is a reflection of Kyrie Irving’s personal connection to his indigenous roots with a star, a tribute to Lakota quilt design, and a mountain symbol, an ode to Kyrie’s Lakota name, Hela or Little Mountain. The sneakHER includes crimson detailing in the form of Swooshes on the strap and side, as well as pops on the sole. Electric green is seen throughout by way of the stitching and sole detailing. The N7 Collection also features some apparel to match the floral, crimson, electric green, and sail color palette in this collection.
