The Air Force 1 hype was real last year. However, some of us may be feeling a little underwhelmed with the lack of variation with some upcoming AF1 releases. White AF1’s are a staple that no one can deny but we’ve been yearning for a more experimental take on the silhouette. However, it seems that the Swoosh has been listening and is delivering a WMNS-only AF1 that pays homage to traditional Japanese craft very soon.

The WMNS Air Force 1 ‘Sashiko’ is inspired by the traditional Japanese embroidery and stitching used for decoration and functional enforcement. This AF1 features multiple Sashiko patterns in varying indigo, black, and white dyes for a shoe that has as much depth as its historical inspiration. Despite the upper’s various textures, balance is created through the addition of neutral accents in the form of white laces, Swoosh branding and midsoles. WHEN IS THE WMNS AIR FORCE 1 ‘SASHIKO’ RELEASING?

No word yet on when the pair will be releasing. However, based on other AF1 releases, we can expect the WMNS Nike Air Force 1 ‘Sashiko’ to drop on either Nike.com or the SNKRS app with a price tag anywhere between $100-$120 USD.
