As the spring season comes into full swing, the idea of rebirth is fresh on the mind. Flowers are blooming and often thought of as the beginning of new life. Coming fresh off Air Max Day, the Swoosh is showing us that there is still so much that can still be done with the reinterpretation of a retro Air Max silhouette.

Back in 2019, London-born artist Skepta released a Shox iteration inspired by both his connection to footwear from his childhood and his Nigerian heritage. For his latest collaboration with the Swoosh, he has breathed new life into the Air Max Tailwind V, a silhouette that first came to the scene in the late ‘70s. Featuring a bright blue upper underneath the exoskeleton-like overlays and a striking iridescent heel counter, the shoe is inspired by the wings of a butterfly and Skepta’s ‘Ignorance is Bliss’ album cover art. This is a sneaker you’ll definitely want to take a closer look at.
