Nike Air Max 1 ‘Blueprint’ and ‘La Ville-Lumière’ | First Look

Image: Nike SNKRS

Last week we revealed to you a pair of Air Max 1’s that are releasing as part of the Air Max Day celebration. Since the Air Max 1 is turning 35 it only seems right that the releases set for the big day are 3 region-specific AM1’s. Although the Air Max 1 ‘Wabi-Sabi’ will be exclusive to Latin America and Asia (we’re sad about it too) there is still a chance to partake in the celebration no matter where you are. Here we’re taking a closer look at the two iterations that will be releasing in Europe and North America.

The WMNS Nike Air Max 1 ‘La Ville-Lumière’ (translates to ‘City of Lights’) will be a Europe exclusive and has sort of a sleeper look to it. When you first look at the shoe, it has an overall neutral sail look with a mix of suede and mesh on the upper. However, upon further inspection you’ll notice that the paneling on the side and heel have an iridescent look inspired by the glimmer of city lights at night in Paris. A navy blue tongue breaks up the neutral look while the charm hanging from the laces pays tribute to the iconic silhouette and the highly anticipated date within the sneaker community.

The Nike Air Max 1 ‘Blueprint’ will be released for us here in North America. The shoe has buttery blue suede overlays that lay on top of a white and sail underneath. On the Swoosh, we see a grid like pattern that is common in actual architectural blueprints. The insole breaks down the components of the AM1 and pays homage to where it all started in Oregon. On the heel, we see a globe embossed underneath a globe and showcases how the silhouette has become a global phenomenon. An icy blue outsole completes the fresh take on the AM1.

WHEN IS THE Nike Air Max 1 ‘Blueprint’ and ‘La Ville-Lumière’ RELEASING?

The Nike Air Max 1 ‘La Ville-Lumière’ and ‘Blueprint’ are set to release on 3/26 via each region's respective SNKRS app. European retailers such as Asphaltgold, END., and 43Einhalb are expected to have the ‘La Ville-Lumière’ as well. If you’re eyeing a pair that is releasing in a region different from where you are, don't worry. We expect these to appear on the resell market in the coming weeks and you'll be able to cop whichever pair you desire. As far as price point goes, we expect these to drop for around $160 USD. In the meantime, check out our additional Nike picks below.
