This past Monday, Chicago mastermind Joe Freshgoods and outfitter New Balance released the much-anticipated “Inside Voices” apparel and footwear collection. Drawing inspiration from the “sights, sounds, and feelings of growing up in the black household,” the collection features soft, warm color combos and multiple textures. This collection feels like a sequel to the duo’s “Outside Clothes” collection, an ode to childhood summer shenanigans: porch hangs, neighborhood cookouts, and visits to grandma’s house.
While the full “Inside Voices” collection released this past Monday via Joe Freshgoods’ instagram, the “Penny Cookie Pink” 9060 is set to be released on the New Balance site tomorrow.

Leather, mesh, and suede, come together in this iteration of the 9060. Named after the famously delicious Funsnax Strawberry Frosted Cookies by Mrs. Pure, this colorway packs a sweet punch while paying homage to a Chicago treat in the process. Aside from this, the soft, muted colors are intentional, acting as a direct reference to grownups telling you to “use your inside voice” when inside someone’s home.
