Since we first learned about this particular Air Jordan 4 being released, we were immediately intrigued. Not only is the colorway giving us a different look and feel from recent Jordan releases, but the meaning behind them is something special. An ode to Phil Jackson–commonly referred to as “Zen Master” and MJ’s long-time coach of the Chicago Bulls Dynasty back in the ‘90s. Phil Jackson was known for his principles of following Eastern and Native American culture and always kept a calm demeanor through his highly demanding and stressful job. 

The AJ4 ‘Zen Master’ gives a calming look with its amethyst purple and light pink colorway all around the upper–similar to how a lava lamp moves. It’s paired with black accents on the netting, interior, lacing, and midsole, with translucent eyelet wings and heel plate. The silhouette is rounded off and completed with a cement gray outsole.

CAN I STILL GET A PAIR OF THE AJ4 ‘ZEN MASTER’?

Unfortunately, when news hit that this psychedelic silhouette wasn’t releasing on stateside, the reaction was not pleasant. The AJ4 ‘Zen Master’ was only going to be released internationally and through raffles at those locations. They were retailing starting at $210 and it seems like we’ll have to catch these on resell.
