Adidas Adilette 22 Slide | Release Info

Adidas slides are always a summer staple. The Adilette slide comes in a variety of colors, sizes for the whole family, and flat out just never lets us down. This season, Adidas has brought us the Adilette slide with a twist but it has been met with some controversy.

The Adilette 22 Slide was surrounded by hype from the moment the images of the new slide hit the e-streets. The initial drop consisted of a neutral cream iteration and sage green colorway with the slide having an overall wavy that goes all the way down to the sole. Inspired by the 3D topography and human expeditions to Mars, the futuristic details of this slide immediately draws attention. Admittedly, it reminded us a little of the sought after Yeezy slide and it reminded Ye of his own designs as well. So much so that he took to Instagram to give us the real tea.

On June 13th in a since deleted IG post, Kanye shared what he really felt about this slide. He stated that this was a “fake Yeezy made by Adidas themselves” and that they “represented the disrespect that people in power have [towards] talent.” Stealing ideas and designs are not a new concept within the sneaker community. However, seeing a collaborator and stand alone designer respond back to a big brand in this way definitely has us curious. While we may not know what really happens behind the scenes, it still makes for a great conversation about inspiration versus straight copying within the industry. WHEN IS THE ADIDAS ADILETTE 22 SLIDE RELEASING?

All things considered, this may be the most talked about drop of the summer. The Adidas Adilette 22 Slide has already dropped earlier this month but we expect for more colorways to drop as the summer rolls along. The next confirmed drop is of the Magic Lime/St Desert Sand marbled iteration that is scheduled to drop on July 8th for $55 USD. We’ll keep you posted with any additional drops as they’re confirmed.
