Social Status x Jordan Granville SP 'University Blue'

Images: Social Status x Jordan Brand

When it comes to the Jordan Brand, they’re not afraid of letting it be known that not everything with them is about basketball. Overtime the Jordan Brand has finessed their way into various avenues when it comes down to their apparel, sneakers, and their different campaigns and collaborations. This time Jordan Brand has teamed up with Social Status to help them roll out their new lifestyle sneaker, the Jordan Granville SP. The inspiration behind the shoe was meant to embody the combined blend of heritage and effortless style of Michael Jordan when he was younger. To assist with the rollout, Social Status also launched a campaign featuring key figures rooted in the Carolina community. Kiara Arnold is a Charlotte born and raised content creator. Nkem and Kerrel Thompson are the owners and founders of the Forbes-nominated Best New Restaurant Bird Pizzeria in Charlotte; and Daniel Baptiste is a self-taught seamster.

The Jordan Granville SP makes functional use of different textiles and it’s evident that comfort was of the upmost importance. Cream mesh quarters play peekaboo with the denim panels that cover the mid-foot while grey suede mudguards are wrapped around the tip of the sneaker. Navy blue heels match the pull tabs and play nice with the university blue accents on the forefoot. Custom Jordan branding is spotted on the tongue and heels of the shoe. Also featured is the full-length 23 engineered foam midsole complete with a waffle tread outsole.
