Within the sneaker space, we are witness to more opportunities surfacing where consumers can contribute to the designs of our favorite silhouettes. Whether it’s collaborations that infuse culture into design elements or a strategic way to introduce new talent to the sneaker industry, adidas is on the mark. Teaming up with Pensole Academy, adidas created the S.E.E.D program (School for Experiential Education in Design). The program enlisted an all-female design class that focused on the forward-thinking in footwear design. Essentially, ‘for the consumer, by the consumer’.
The female design team took on the popular Forum Mid silhouette and reimagined the pair with bold summer colors. The Forum Mid features an upper constructed of nylon and leather. A color combination of gold, aqua, and pink play against the upper and include an ankle strap. Basketball leather provides color contrast and brings out more of the bold detailing.
