It’s no surprise that we are major fans of anything Aleali May touches. From styling to sneakers, we love her boldness and unique storytelling. Within the sneaker space, her shoes sell out QUICK (don’t say we didn’t warn you). We noticed some cryptic messages around the social media streets and anticipated there would be another Jumpman collaboration in the works. We’re here to give you the teaser of her next sneaker and while we are still processing the aesthetics, the ladies are eager to see what this iteration looks like on foot.
There’s more to the story…
Aleali always ties us into the WHY and how that connects her to her style. This design is rooted in a foundation of confidence through the very elements of style. These were ways to build community. Paying homage to her past has never been a foreign concept for Aleali. More of her Air Jordan 1 ‘Califia’ campaign has surfaced and the scene starts all the way back at Hillcrest Drive Elementary school. The streetwear queen pays homage to the community mentorship she received and highlights a strong woman who played an integral role in Aleali’s journey. Her drill team/cheer coach, Shanora Holloway, is posted up with Aleali in the latest ‘Califia’ shots below.
“The shoes mean a lot, as far as referencing the colors of the schools I’ve taught at. Putting these colors on the shoes means a lot to me.”

Then there’s the sneaker…
There has been an intentional focus on upgrading design details as well as comfort ability within the Jumpman design labs. With more of the Zoom Comfort elements taking over, it is not a huge shocker that the Aleali May x Air Jordan 1 collab is part of the CMFT line. Aleali is all about her details and the sneaker features a mashup of materials (including satin), her signature on the heel, a pop of chenille on the Wings logo, and indented Swoosh. The blue and green colorway is complimented by a cream tongue construction, is what we now understand to be her school colors. Check out more snaps below.

Alongside new release details, the Aleali May x AJ1 will also have an apparel collection that ties in elements of the sneaker design. Aleali has a way with details and infusing her story into anything she touches. The collection features track pants, tops, shorts, and a fly varsity jacket.
