The Nike Air Max 90 30th Anniversary

Designed by Tinker Hatfield the Air Max 90 originally called the Air Max III made its debut in 1990 and gave us the largest Air unit compared to its predecessors at the time. The textured panels allowed for new color schemes and the rest is history. The shoe is a street classic and was a shoe that I got every year going back to school. As it surpassed the 15, 20, 25-year mark it’s importance to the Air Max lineup is solidified and it’s now at its 30th anniversary.
In 2020 the Air Max 90 gets reissued with some updates to the silhouette (panel scale, toe box height and heel panel) and will release in multiple colorways inspired by the shoe’s original color blockings. Not only do we see some redesign on the outside but the inner workings of the shoe such as the new ultra-plush linings and constructions, with the sockliner featuring a hidden "Easter egg" — an Air Max 1 outsole on the bottom. Nike is also bringing back the original skinny box design.
The anniversary shoe, the Air Max 90 CS will arrive in the sail colorway that will highlight the changes to the sneaker. The sneaker will also come in unisex sizing as well. The Air Max 90 CS will release on December 21st at select retailers and the SNKRS and SNEAKRS apps.
