The Serena Williams Design Crew is an extension of the core values that make the iconic athlete one of the greatest. A true champion for change, Serena Williams set out to be more intentional with carving out spaces for more diversity and real representation. We first learned this with the inception of the SWDC, but understood the assignment more and more as we took to the inspiration that was a foundational piece of all collections. Serena continues to empower all women through movement, and we can’t help but stan the tennis player.
The Air Force 1 x Serena is a product of comfort without sacrificing style. The Air Force 1 takes on a minimalist design removing the lacing system and replacing it with a gold zipper. The pair features a clean white upper constructed with pebbled leather. There is no color blocking as it relates to the Swoosh branding, but it appears the signature detailing is outlined with an embroidered Swoosh logo. Fortunately for us, we don’t have to wait too long for this remastered Nike Air Force 1 to hit the e-shelves. The Serena collaboration is slated to release this week on 2/18. The price tag is set at $130 USD and we’re excited to see the SWDC create more options for footwear/apparel. Is this particular sneaker a COP or CAN?
