New Orleans Shines In the Spotlight With This NOLA-Themed Air Force 1 Low

Images: Sneaker Politics, Nike

The soul of Louisiana is found within the streets of New Orleans. A resilient city racked with hard times, easy living isn’t exactly commonplace in the Big Easy. Despite lasting economic hardships from Hurricane Katrina in ‘05, NOLA’s creative pulse remains strong. History, music, and food intersect in New Orleans in a way unlike any other US city. The birthplace of American jazz and bounce music, black culture’s roots run deep here. This fall, Nike will be adding some Big Easy bounce in their step with an Air Force 1 Low inspired by the Paris of the South.

A clean, stark white base allows extravagant details to shine on this special edition version of the AF1. Brilliant gold metal accents run throughout, seen on the sneaker’s lace eyelets, aglets, and a 504 NOLA area code dubrae. Peachy-orange metallic logo patches on the tongue adds a pop of color, while glittery silver swooshes shine bright under direct light. Metallic gold heels and a gold ‘NOLA’ graphic on the outside ankle complete this detail-heavy shoe.
