Foot Locker Kicks Off 'Behind Her Label' Celebrating Women in Streetwear
It’s no secret that gender gaps exist in a variety of industries. As women continue to push the message of representation in the sneaker and streetwear space, brands like Foot Locker are working to impact the change we demand. Community over competition is a mantra we like to stand by at CNK, and Foot Locker is using their massive platform to build more community while celebrating ladies who are making waves in design.
By creating ‘Behind Her Label’ Foot Locker is putting the spotlight on the stories behind three female streetwear designers. Trailblazers Amanda Litzinger, Olivia Anthony, and Shana Sadeghi-Ray are utilizing their creative expression to elevate our sneakHER style with unique threads. They are all working with Foot Locker Women to design an exclusive capsule collection that will be debuted on their own individual websites mid-November. The collection will take inspiration from each ladies’ love of streetwear and basketball.
MEET AMANDA.
Amanda is all about the environment when it comes to her brand, Stickybaby. Stickbaby features repurposed clothing which speaks to a vintage vibe. The brand serves up sustainability and believes in the vitality of low impact production.
MEET OLIVIA.
Olivia isn’t new to the streetwear game, and has been designing pieces through her brand since 2012. Originally from Alabama, but currently residing in NY, Olivia creates a sense of empowerment through her bold apparel line. Through the mantra of ‘LIVIN’, Olivia has infused artistic expression into her brand while encouraging women to make their own statements.
MEET SHANA.
Shana is your all-around cool girl and she’s found a unique avenue to spread love (the Brooklyn way). Through her creative expression and skills as a multidisciplinary artist, Shana’s self-titled brand merges her fine arts background with graphic design elements. Add in a mix of her favorite things, like basketball, and you get a dope line of products.
We’re excited to see the collection pieces that each design and how they incorporate their own style + creativity to the finished products.
