Masks have become one of the most ubiquitous and confusing topics amid all the coronavirus talk. You're probably hearing a lot about N95 masks and shortages and companies pivoting to manufacturing them and conflicting statements regarding whether or not regular people without symptoms should use them.

Here's what we know: Last week, the CDC changed it’s tune and has begun reviewing initial guidelines based on new data showing the extent to which asymptomatic people are unwittingly transmitting the virus. While many experts say more people should wear masks, others worry such a recommendation could lead to hoarding that prevents healthcare workers from getting the masks they so desperately need. Think toilet paper shortage on steroids.

While workers should obviously take priority when it comes to medical-grade masks, non-medical masks are becoming more and more available thanks to fashion brands big and small. One such brand is no stranger to our e-space. Tryna B Studios has been a mainstay on our site for awhile now and its Founder, Leslie Gomez, is putting her very talented cut-and-sew skills to work by creating cloth masks from repurposed fabrics.

“This mask is handmade from remnant (left over unused) MLB 1994 fabric. The mask is Adult sized and 100% cotton with cotton lining inside.” In addition to using a fabric that promotes sustainability, Leslie and the Tryna B squad aren’t trying to break your bank either. Each mask is washable, reusable and will only cost you $12.00 USD.
