A-COLD-WALL* and Converse Come Together to Tell an Evolving Story
A-COLD-WALL* has presented us with apparel and footwear with a technical approach since its inception and this philosophy has transcended into their collaborations. Now, Samuel Ross, founder of ACW*, is taking a major shift with his brand and transitioning it to a more minimalistic approach. ACW* has partnered with Converse to showcase this purist vision for ACW* and provide us with a preview of what lies ahead.
ACW* and Converse teamed up to release a lineup that is influenced by Britain’s underground street culture and vivid landscapes, fusing the worlds of basketball, Brutalist architecture, and natural environments with fine tailoring and precise construction. The collection includes 2 footwear options, the All Star Lugged and ERX. The All Star Lugged takes inspiration from Ross’ hiking trips across the mountainous terrain of the Caribbean in his adolescence and his desire to create an All Star that was more hard-wearing. The ERX features textured suede, debossed elements and patina to add soul the shoe and hit the balance between texture and material to carry a sense of memory.
The two tracksuits in the collection focus on technical fabrics and organic hues of taupe, browns, and slates that extends the idea of functionality and exploration that ACW* has been interested in for the development as a brand. The collection is rounded out with a nylon, fog-hued, tote bag that utilizes premium materials and stylish distressing for an accessory option that is raw, redefined and ready to weather anything.
Pricing for the collection varies with the All Star Lugged and ERX being priced at $140 and $160 USD, respectively, while apparel and accessories set to drop between $130 and $180 USD depending on silhouette.
