Aaliyah Haughton wasn’t just a global music superstar, she was also a visionary that continues to influence culture. Before her untimely passing in 2001, Aaliyah was just scratching the surface of stardom from singing to acting. Her infectious smile lit up a room, choreographed performances left us in awe, and her style created a lifestyle - not just a trend in the 90s. In celebration of her life and legacy, KITH is launching a special capsule that is rooted in full circle moments. In partnership with Aaliyah’s alma mater Detroit School of Arts, Aaliyah’s Estate, and the non-profit, I Support the Girls, KITH is uniting the importance of creative expression and empowerment in motion.
The KITH Women for Aaliyah capsule was created through a lens of community, inspiration, and love. The campaign short film puts a key focus on highlighting young women from the Detroit School of Arts, who have the same artistic beginnings as Aaliyah herself. Working with renowned photographer, Robert Whitman, the KITH Women for Aaliyah apparel features never-before-seen photos of the late singer. The capsule includes shirts and hoodies that embrace the essence of Aaliyah AKA Babygirl. WHERE CAN I BUY THE KITH WOMEN FOR AALIYAH APPAREL?
To continue the giveback of this beautiful capsule, KITH will be donating 100% of the proceeds to the Detroit School of Arts and I Support the Girls. The non-profit collects essential items for women who have suffered challenging circumstances. Outside of distributing critical items like underwear, bras, and menstrual hygiene products, I Support the Girls gives hope to females and creates a support system.
