When luxury designers attempt to dip their toe in streetwear, it can be either a hit or miss. The Marni x Carhartt WIP collab seems to be coming in strong since its January 14th release. You’ve probably seen the funky floral print on some of your favorites like Material Gworl Saucy Santana and “Rose In Harlem” songstress Teyanna Taylor. Marni’s play with pattern and functionality is refreshing. It’s a heavy-hitting collection with a starry campaign. The Detroit utility apparel brand has met its flowered funky match.
Marni remarks that “the collection reinterprets Carhartt WIP’s signatures with a fresh gaze, lending workwear-inspired archetypes a new guise through MARNI’s unique flair for colors, prints and shapes.” The full ready-to-wear collection boasts the yellow and green variation of a bold floral print across heavy zip-up hoodies, trousers, oversized jackets, midi skirts, and a range of accessory items. The sole sneakers of the collection reminisce the silhouette of a Vans Classic Slip-On Platform, but with the Marni name across the back of the heel and the enduring floral print. Anticipate the canvas shopper bag and bucket hat to eventually sell out before anything else; the accessories are displayed to be the most adaptable to style and mix.
