Pigalle x Ill Studios Create An Amazing Update For The Court
Playing ball on the blacktop is a favorite pastime that people can relate to around the globe. What if you walked to your neighborhood court and saw it completely dipped in brillant flashes of color? Almost as if you stepped into another dimension of the video game realm. This dope idea really does exist in a neighboorhood in Paris and it is getting national attention.
The designers are not new to this, they are true to this. Back in 2015, Pigalle collaborated with the creative direction of Ill Studio to create a court makeover using hues of blue, red, white and yellow. This year, they decided to amp it up a notch with some eye-catching color schemes.
Tucked in between buildings in Duperre lies an amazing work of art curated by Parisian based fashion powerhouse Pigalle and Ill Studio. Sponsored by Nike, this basketball court has beautiful splashes of orange, yellow, navy, and purple throughout. Pigalle's founder, Stephane Ashpool, has a love for the sport and continues to display that through his fashion brand and teaching kids basketball skills while highlighting an appreciation for the game. The court artwork is beautiful yet eccentric and is meant to bridge gaps between art and the sport. They are doing it for the culture and we love it.
"Through this new court, we wish to explore the relationship between sport, art and culture and its emergence as a powerful socio-cultural indicator of a period in time."

The Pigalle Brand has been on a wave as they recently released their Nike Summer 2017 Collection. This unisex collection has basketball at the epicenter of design and includes pieces like tracksuits, reversible shorts, windbreakers and sweats. For the footwear, they also offer slides and two iterations of the Nike Shake NDestrukt also known as Dennis Rodman's signature silhouette.
Pigalle married the idea of high fashion and basketball with his new collection, and we have to say it's dope. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on the Pigalle basketball court design and new Summer 17 Collection. You can grab some of the pieces below while they last.
