9 Female Owned Small Businesses We're Shopping This Season
As we head into the holiday season, it's important to us that we show support to women who, just like us, are trying their best to promote purpose and positivity through their own businesses. So, we thought we'd put together a list of some of our favorite women-owned companies to support this Cyber Monday, throughout the holiday shopping season and beyond.
According to Womenable, as of 2016, there were about 11.3 million women-owned businesses in the U.S., employing almost 9 million people and raking in more than $1.6 trillion in revenues. Yet 99.9% of women-owned businesses are still small (employing 500 employees or less) and female-founded companies receive only 3% of venture capital funding and far fewer loans.
So, instead of buying most of your holiday gifts from national brands, think about purchasing something special for every woman in you life - from the wanderluster to the fashion lover - and support a woman entrepreneur while you’re at it. #Chickspiration, anyone? Let's get into it.
For Your Fresh:
Simply B - "Simply Stacked" Bag
We're in the business of sneakHERS (see what we did there?) so, Simply B has been an e-favorite of ours for some time. From her "Sneaker Thrifting" posts to her insane shoe collection, B is a fellow lover of Swoosh and also happens to be a budding e-commerce star. When we spotted this "Simply Stacked" custom clutch, we fell in LOVE. Our Release Editor Cassidy recently copped her own for $35 USD and she's pretty much over the moon.
MariaXGulina - Ladies Sweat x Streetwear
London-based designer Maria Gulina is no stranger to our admiration. Her collection of lady-friendly streetwear is inspired by hugs, happiness, and comfort and features heart-printed sweat separates, button down shirts, and track suits perfect for your cozy schmood.
Human Collection - "Human First" Shirt Dress
We're huge fans of women who seem to do it all and I'sha Gaines, founder of HoneyBeNatural and The Human Collection, is definetly a Jill of All Trades. When we got our hands on this "Human First" T-Shirt Dress, it was love at first wear. Add the positive messages behind her entire Human Collection and we've become big fans. While this shirt dress is only available for pre-order, you can nab a ton of Human Collection stuff for your good vibes by clicking below.

TheBWerd - Brand Beginnings Guide + Priorities Planner
Courtney Brand is one of my favorite ladies, period. Her style blog might be your introduction to her but, I promise, she offers much more in the self-help department for anyone who has a dream or a side hustle. I personally swear by her daily Priorities Planner and I'll be utilizing her Brand Beginnings booklet this month in an effort to revamp and refresh CNK for 2018. Basically, get your business poppin'.
Emmelie De La Cruz - The Profit Process x Make Yourself Marketable
In the spirit of full disclosure, I'm actually part of Emmelie's 5K in PJ's Collective which is designed to help entreprenHers monetize and get to work. Personally, I've fallen a bit short in utilizing this service for myself but, I'm making it a personal goal to up my game in December. That said, Emmelie is one of those tough love coaches and she provides amazing tools for your to get sh&t done - that is, if you utilize them. And, if you're more into working on your own, she provides an awesome workbook that'll help you funnel your ideas into payouts. P.S. If you're unsure of where to start, Emmelie has created a quiz designed specifically to tell you what you need for your personal growth.
For Your Finances:
My Fab Finance - Financial Success Planner & Student Loan Program
Are you where you want to be financially? Do you have a plan for your money? Are you making your money work for you? Are student loans a source of stress? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, MyFabFinance is probably a good investment for you and for your future. Founded by Tonya Rapley, MyFabFinance can help you reach your money goals one worksheet at a time. One of my biggest goals is to be financially secure and, more importantly, FINANCIALLY AWARE. That's why I plan on investing in Tonya's 90-Day Financial Success Planner and her Student Loan Masterclass in order to walk into 2018 with a more fiscally responsible mindset.
