Sneaker Diary: 2 Looks, 1 Shoe with Nike Cortez
Happy Monday AND happy October! It's been a crazy summer and I, personally, am super excited to embrace fall and a few weekends at home. These last few weeks I've been hitting the road pretty consistantly. From Dallas to Houston, to Austin, to NYC for the Serena and Virgil Abloh launch event, back to NYC, and back to Houston this past weekend, I'VE BEEN MOVING. Which is why I've also been trying to pack light and invest in sneaks that can easily pair with multiple fits.
The Nike Cortez is my favorite sneaker ever (which I rocked in this Sneaker Diary back in May) and I have a few colorways but, nothing goes with EVERYTHING quite like the classic whites with the black Swoosh.
For my second NYC trip, I needed something that would a) go with a few outfits because wasting money on a checked bag is a NO and; b) be comfortable to walk in because, New York. I made the trek to KITH's Lafayette St. location while I was in the city to visit my friend Dozie and I paired this classic Cortez with a black midi dress and my favorite jean jacket.
The thing I love about the Cortez is it pairs well with everything from jeans and a midi dress to leggings and a slited maxi. Whether you're opting to dress up a bit or go with a more leisure feel, the Cortez can be option that is stylish and budget-friendly.
Earlier this summer, I made my way around Dallas for a BBQ tour that was extremely filling. Knowing that I'd probably be indulging in a few pieces of brisket meant that I needed to pull out the leggings. I opted to pull out the same pair of Cortez (because I wear my shoes MULTIPLE times, feel me? LOL) and pair it with a simple graphic tee, black leggings, and a jean shirt tied strategically around my waist to hide the food baby. LOL.
All in all, it's been an amazing summer but, I'm eager to start layering up and adding some high tops and sneaker boots to my rotation.
