Sneaker Diary: Cinco de Mayo in Puma Suede
Happy Monday folks! I don't know about you but, my downtime with my momma over Mother's Day weekend was MUCH needed. Now, I'm just trying to rebound. Not gonna lie, I really just want to take a nap and cuddle with my puppy BUT, we've got work to do, sneaks to post, and a new Sneaker Diary that is all about that GOOD ENERGY. So, pushing through - holla if you feel me.
Nonetheless, a few weeks ago my best friend (and fellow dope girl blogger @fitxbrit) and I abandoned our Saturday laptop session and instead decided to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with margaritas and some bomb Mexican food here in Dallas.
On this lowkey hot day in Dallas, I wanted to be festive and embrace a little bit of color. Luckily, I found this Slogan T-Shirt at Zara for under $10. I love graphic tees and Zara typically stocks some pretty dope options under $15 that range from the conscious to the hilarious. I'm definitely going to stock up on a few others this summer.
I paired my bargain tee with a jean skirt I bought late last year. I've worn it a few times off an on but, never to a day time situation with lots of sweating and lots of walking. Let's just say it definitely held up and it'll probably be in constant rotation this season. My exact skirt is no longer in stock BUT I linked a ton of similar (and one darn near identical) options below.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Puma Suede - a classic shoe that continues to stand the test of time so, when the homies at Puma sent me a pair I was beyond estatic. I still wear these Puma goodies from last Summer and I couldn't wait to break these in. Fun fact: if you're familiar with the Netflix show 'The Get Down' you should definitely know one of the reasons I have an affinity for these Suedes - hello, Shaolin Fantastic. LOL! In addition to being a classic shoe that any sneaker lover should stock in their collection, the Puma Suede is also super comfortable (I definitely walked about 2 miles around Deep Ellum that day, FYI) AND it has a price point that'll keep even the most frugal folks pleased. $65 isn't bad - would you agree? If you're a fan, I've linked my EXACT pair below. Ladies: my sneaks are actually a men's show but, you can still rock them. Just be sure to go down a size from your normal. For example, I wear an 8 in Womens and these Suedes are a 7 in Mens.
I'm so excited to hit a few more spots around the city (and a few out of state + an out of the country jaunt) this summer! If you have any recommendations, let me know!
