Event Recap: Ending Women's History Month With K-Swiss

The month of March has been a pretty exciting one here at CNKDaily and one reason for that is due to all of the girl power we’ve seen throughout March 2019. Even though sneakers is the thing that brings us all together, our CNKDaily “WHY" is all about serving women in and around the sneaker community. Whether we are highlighting it through sneakHER style, our Chick Chat series, or CNK Sneaker Closets – we aim to empower women, amplify our voices, and bring attention to boss babes who, just like us, are building from the ground up. So, when we got the opportunity to interview two amazing female entrepreneurs on our home turf, we were so there.

Last weekend, CNK took back to Dallas to celebrate KSWISS’ #WeAreTheWest campaign with Footlocker and Lady Footlocker. The initiative, which spotlights various LA-based moguls is a different kind of series simply because it gives true entrepreneurs a chance to shine and tell their stories as they build multi-million dollar companies. I got the opportunity to sit down with two such women, Karen Civil (CEO of Always Civil Enterprise, Author, and Social Media/Digital Strategist) and Natalie Ellis (Co-Founder and CEO of Boss Babe, Inc., Founder of Oh My Glow) for an evening Q&A where Karen and Natalie dropped gems for everyone in attendance.

While waiting for the Q&A session with Karen and Natalie, I was able to mingle with attendees and get in a few snaps. I opted to keep it simple for the evening, rocking my all black KSWISS Classic VNs, this pleated midi skirt from H&M, a simple black tee, and my favorite distressed denim jacket.

One thing I enjoyed most about the KSWISS x Footlocker event was the chance to really see the enthusiasm of the crowd for these ladies. There were quite a few people in the space who run businesses and were looking to soak of the wealth of knowledge that these women bring to the table. KSWISS is a brand that is known to champion the business-minded man and woman, whether that be Gary Vee’s passionate opinions, the Generation K initiative, or the CEOs Wear Sneakers Podcast, the emphasis is always on the go getters who aren’t afraid of creating their own opportunities.

The KSWISS x Footlocker event was not only a cool space to get in our sneakHER fix, but an awesome evening that allowed Dallas to come together and show love. If you were able to make it out, I know you’ll agree with me when I say we need more events like this in the Triple D.
