At Home Art That Inspires Us
With the recent events and obvious national unrest, it’s important to do all we can to use our voices and our platforms. Whether that be supporting brands with a message or sharing resources on Instagram, CNK understands that we have work to do outside of a trending topic.
With that responsibility comes the need to unplug once in a while and focus on recharging. For some of us that may be an at-home Yoga session, a good book to read, or decorating our homes with dope artwork. Curating a space that serves as a creative hub supports our own version of self-care. We have ran across some pretty fly artists on our daily social scroll, and we want to ensure you get to know them as well.
1. KEIA KODAMA
This dope artist created The Kodama Project introducing us to her custom pieces and we were swooning. Her art, mats, and lanterns are just a few creative pieces that would go perfect in any sneakHER space. Aside from being an artist, Keia is also well versed in creative direction, wardrobe styling, and marketing. Check her out below.
2. EILEEN SALAZAR
This multi-disciplinary artist is about her creative process just as much as she is about her culture. Eileen shares her skills through her site, which includes production, style, and graphic design. Not to mention we had to stop mid-scroll when we came across her sneakHER art that fused two of our faves: kicks and flowers. We love to see creative ways to elevate our favorite spaces. Check her out below.
3. AURELIA DURAND
This illustrator and animator has special way of vibrant colors to express her artistic style. Aurelia celebrates diversity through illustration and her pieces make us feel joyful. TBH, we have our eyes on her latest Black Lives Matter art pieces. She’s paving the way as a global ambassador who understands the art of representation. Literally. Check her out below.
4. KIMMISKI ART
This artist has made major waves in land of the trill AKA Houston. Aside from creating a Reebok showcase of her art class’ custom sneakers and designing her own Nike Air Max 1, Kimmi is inspired daily by the culture she loves. Her digital illustrations are depictions of her love of sneakers, music, movies, and more. Check her out below.
5. JADE PURPLE BROWN
This artist utilizes vibrant color palettes to promote messages of individuality while empowering all of us along the way. Her skills expand past illustration and also into creative direction and design. Jade has collaborated with many well-known brands and has a docuseries with Squarespace x WeTransfer. Her artwork is perfect for any home that loves bold artistic styles, and did we mention she illustrated a book for all the boss babes called ‘Words to Live By’. Check her out below.
