eBay x Playa Society Aims to Create a More Inclusive Space for Women in Sneakers
Women have been utilizing their voices and sparking much needed conversation in the sneaker/streetwear space, and we are always excited to hear about initiatives geared towards inclusiveness. The momentum we feel when women come together is a driving force as it relates to impactful change. Basically, we are HERE FOR IT. With March being Women’s History Month, eBay is putting a clear focus on celebrating women in sneakers all month long. The sneaker game is an estimated 80 billion dollar market, and we were checking for new pairs on eBay before the boom of social media was a thing. Even though women are a huge part of the buying power within sneaker culture, we have been historically underserved.
Kicking off the March festivities with eBay’s Female Sneakerhead program is a collaboration with Playa Society. Founded by Esther Wallace, Playa Society has been a notable apparel line within the sports industry. It’s clear that the intersection of sports and sneakers is a match made in heaven, and this capsule collection emphasizes how women want to be seen for their passion versus their gender alone.
More women are not shying away from creating their own lanes to get these important messages across to the masses. eBay x Playa Society will launch this limited line of shirts, hoodies, and socks on March 8th. You will be able to SHOP THE STYLES exclusively through eBay and we will keep you in the loop as collections release this month. In addition to shopping the Playa Society apparel, eBay will be creating a Female Sneaker Shop that will host various picks from change makers throughout the sneaker community.
What can we expect from eBay this month? There will be quite a bit of programming to celebrate the HER in sneaker culture. From carefully curated collaborations with female trailblazers around the community to exclusive sneaker shopping experiences, we are anxious to see how eBay is doing our favorite thing: CREATING THE COMMUNITY.
