Sneaker Diary: Nike Air Max Jewell PRM
So, two weeks ago I celebrated my birthday. I kept it pretty lowkey for the most part, minus a huge turn up fest on Thursday and the release of a special "Magic Year" tee, I didn't do too much. However, I was blessed enough to fellowship with some awesome Dallas women that Saturday for the latest edition of BWLBrunch.
Since my last Sneaker Diary was all about playing host to some awesome Dallasites, I figured you all could use more #Chickspiration and an answer to a question a few girls have asked me: how do I wear sneakers with dresses?
Well, for me, simplicity and keeping your dress above your ankles is key. I nabbed this Ribbed Midi Dress for just $12 from Forever 21 and easily paired it with the same jean jacket I wore here. All in all, my dress and my jean jacket were under $50. Fine and frugal - I keep trying to tell y'all it's possible.
The second thing I try to stick with when pairing dresses with sneakers is to make sure I pick a silhouette that is sleek and not too bulky. Some sneakers are a natural fit for this - think Nike Air Force 1 Lows, Adidas Gazelles, and the NB 247. All three are sleek silhouettes that will work to slim your foot.
I was gifted this pair of the Nike Air Max Jewell PRM back in March and they've been a staple in my rotation for the entire summer. Seriously. I even posted them on my IG a few weeks ago and girls went gaga over them. Why? The detailing is gorgeous, the silhouette works with everything from jeans to dresses, and the tortoise shell accent paired with a tan synthetic leather upper makes this a luxe look for less - $150 to be exact. I love these so much that I'm thinking about grabbing a black pair ASAP.

Our day at the BWLBrunch was amazing. My best friend Brittany and I linked with some awesome women to bring in a day of girl power and sisterhood. #MakeSisterhoodGreatAgain was the hashtag used to promote the event and I can definitely say it was a great turnout. Event organizer Amanda Bell (who is an absolute sweetheart, btw) treated all of us to a slew of vendors that happened to be women owned businesses. The food (!!!!) was catered by Gabrielle McBay who literally had us licking our plates. I have no shame.
If you live in Dallas and are interested in attending the next BWL meetup, visit them on IG and be sure to keep your eyes peeled! Until then, take a look at some of the snaps from our day making sisterhood great again.
