The Nike Air Max 97 Swarovski Releases In Metallic Gold
From its streamlined silhouette to its bullet-train inspired design, the Nike Air Max 97 is a shoe that is made to turn heads. Even though we've seen a number of iterations of the 97 in recent years, the luxe feel that emanates from the “Metallic Gold” and “Silver Bullet” colorways is virtually unmatched. Now, Nike is taking opulance up a notch by adding a bit of shine for your post-Christmas appreciation. While adding a slew of shimmering Swarovski crystals to the 97 isn't anything new (read: we saw this $400 upgrade on the “Silver Bullet” 97 last year) this take on the gold is even more of a heart-eye emoji moment than its predecessor.
With an upper constructed of Swarovski's proprietary Crystal Fabric — a flexible material that features thousands of densely clustered crystals — the shoe is a walking disco ball, reflecting light with every step. Red branded accents on the tongue and midfoot as well as a gold Air Max cushioning unit round out the uber luxe.
If you're a fan of the fancy, these extravagant Air Max 97's will also cost you a pretty penny, ringing in at $400 USD. The Swarovski x Nike Air Max 97 "Metallic Gold" LX is set to release December 26th.
