When Adidas and Donald Glover announced their partnership, there was no doubt that the products produced wouldn’t be as thoughtfully artful as Glover’s other creative endeavors. The duo has come together to release a 3-sneaker lineup of classic silhouettes – including the Nizza, Continental 80, and the Lacombe. Each pair is designed for the wearer to tell a story through how they wear the shoe.

Rich is a concept. With this project, I wanted to encourage people to think about how their stories can be told on their feet. Value isn’t quantified by what you wear, rather the experiences from them. And you make the decision on what works for you, you live through your own lens. The partnership for me is about being able to exemplify what doing your own thing truly looks and feels like.

With this focus on personal narratives that worn kicks can tell, these sneakers all about subtle imperfections. Each pair is covered in a tonal canvas with deconstructed details like uneven stitching, loose threads and reversed eyestays. A standout detail for me are the moth graphics that further execute that “wear to life” theme. Take a closer look at the full campaign below.

No partnership with Donald Glover would be complete without a film. Catch the vibes in the series of short films inspired by the collection below!

I love this raw approach to sneaker design. The shoes leave room for customization through painting, embellishing, and just wearing them without worrying about what happens to them. This is such a Donald Glover concept. If you’re ready to tell your story, you can SHOP THE COLLECTION below on April 26.
