Nike is not only innovative, but believes in essential necessities of the consumer. Previously, we got a chance to check out Nike Lab’s unveiling of their Chicago storefront and ACG collection. The All Conditions Gear lineup is back with two staple pieces for summer. Whether you are bracing yourself from the harsh elements during summer showers or running around the city, the ACG collection is here for you. Being from Houston, I can relate to the importance of preparation against the elements. On any given day, we can have sunshine mixed with torrential rain concluded by a hail storm. Welcome to Texas.

This month, the NikeLab ACG Poncho and 07 KMTR silhouette will be available to enhance our flexibility and comfort during urban commutes.

“We were talking about summer festivals and the fact that so many people have ponchos with them. We then considered how we could create a pinnacle version of the garment. We used a lightweight three-layer ripstop fabric, added taped seams at the hood and made sure it was packable.”

The water-repellent poncho is constructed of three layers which include magnetic closures, adjustable hood, kangaroo style pockets, and fly yet simple ACG branding. The 07 KMTR sneaker also protects against wet weather with the expandable upper built with water-resistant materials. There is easy access to slip the shoe on with the magnetic heel closure. The cool part of the KMTR is the use of bungee-like cords to maximize and enhance a functional fit.

While the line is geared for the Men’s Department with additional apparel pieces, we can still get our hands on this innovative tech wear and put it to use. The summer ‘17 ACG collection is set to launch this week on May 18th at select retailers and NikeLab.com. Updated Calendar Watch: Right before Memorial Day weekend on May 25th, we are expecting to see a couple new 07 KMTR colorways drop as well. Check the latest images out below.
