As we know, a shoe-nniversary is important. Take it from the Nike Cortez, who knows how to make a comeback. An iconic silhouette that has proven itself timeless. From lookbooks to cool custom iDs, the Cortez continues to shine as a go-to sneaker.

BACK IN THE GAP...

Andrea Lieberman, the founder of LA-based brand A.L.C., has teamed up with the Swoosh to drop a special Cortez with a luxe makeover. Not only has A.L.C. utilized the popular sneaker in their own lookbooks since 2016, Andrea has been a fan favorite of the Cortez for years. Back to her celebrity stylist days, Andrea used her love for the Cortez in creating looks for people.

A VISION...

Here's where we get a dose of #Chickspiration. The A.L.C. founder felt it was only right to align with Nike and produce an authentic collaboration for the ladies by an all female team of amazing women. The campaign includes Olympic gymnast Gabby Douglas and models Bhumika Arora and Cindy Bruna. The designer also thought that adding empowering messages to the sneaker would allow ladies to carry inspiration everywhere they went, literally. As two brands that pushed the same values, this would be a match made in sneaker heaven.

"I wanted the Cortez by A.L.C. to be an elevated option for the modern woman. A sneaker that could fit seamlessly into our wardrobes and our lives."

SNEAKHER STYLE...

The Nike Cortez by A.L.C. drops in three colorways that include terra blush, oil grey, and a cream. Constructed of monochromatic suede uppers and a snakeskin heel tab, this sneaker mixes fresh high fashion with classic familiarity. Two parts of the shoe that really stand out - 1) A long set of laces that allows you to tie them up your ankles in a "ballet street style" type of way 2) The footbeds come with a different mantra of inspiration.

I have a feeling we will see more of the Nike Cortez. This trio is set to release on 8/25 at Nordstrom x Nike boutiques and 8/28 online at Nike stockists including the SNKRS App. Get your notifications ready! If you haven't grabbed a Cortez for your collection, you can purchase some of our faves below.
