As the sneaker space has broadened to become the intersection of community and creativity, we continue to appreciate when culture is at the epicenter of design storytelling. What peaks our interest even more, is when some of our favorite trailblazers are part of brand collaborations. We couldn’t help but strategize our budgets when Beyonce announced her partnership with adidas, and now Yara Shahidi has joined The Three Stripes for a FYE collab. While she may be known for her on screen vibe and activism, Yara’s effortless style and cool demeanor immediately add flare to adidas Originals’ classic styles. The reimagined apparel and footwear pieces are infused with Yara’s African American and Iranian heritage.
The collection features track pants, track top, a satin iteration of track pants with matching track top, and a pair of the timeless Superstars. Yara’s first capsule is meant to elevate while empowering the younger generation. Even though we would consider Yara to play an integral role in the youth culture of today, her collection throws it back to the 60s through it’s design inspiration. The sneakers give off a premium feel with a leather upper accompanied by brown and yellow suede detailing on the signature strips and heel. From the scalloped tongue to the insoles’ ‘YAR’ which means friend, the construction was met with purpose. Check out more snaps below.
