Billionaire Boys Club is known for partnering with talented contemporary artists like Takashi Murakami for their apparel collections. This time, Billionaire Girls Club has partnered up with Miami native artist D’ana Nunez of COVL to bring us “These Dreams,” a wavy autumn apparel capsule collection that reflects COVL’s psychedelic art style. Straying away from the moody, conventional fall hues of deep reds and browns, COVL injected color and playfulness into the collection with pastels and vibrant colors. “Traditionally speaking, when you think of these colors you do not associate them with fall,” said D’ana on her instagram story. “That was part of the reason why I wanted to go with these colors; but also incorporate some of the psychology behind them and why they feel warm.”
The collection includes a mint hoodie and sweat short set, graphic black and white tees, a pullover, and a utility jacket. Bubble font keeps the collection light-hearted and groovy along with the iconic COVL flower seen in much of her artwork.
D’ana’s personality and Puerto Rican heritage can be found throughout the collection. “Cuando puedas cuanto seas,” which translates to “when you can, when you are ready and able, take up space in this world,” is printed on the pastel mint statement hoodie. A favorite mantra of D’ana’s, it serves as a reminder to not stifle your capabilities; dream big, stay true to yourself, and own it.
