Nike Tapped an International Girl Crew To Design This Cortez
Continuing to highlight its Cortez Clasic sneaker, Nike has tapped International Girl Crew, a global collective of women, for a trio of NikeID Cortez color palettes reflective of the member’s passion for their own communities as well as travel.
The Nike and IGC Cortez comes in three colorways specific to three major cities: London, New York and Los Angeles.
While the color palette stays true to the Nike brand DNA (sporty, bold, wearable), each one has a clear correlation to the city it was inspired by. The Los Angeles hero model has a sage green nylon base offset with white accents; the London option features a red/orange base with a light pink stripe accent; and the New York offering features a white sole with royal blue accents and a fly AF yellow accent.
Says International Girl Crew founding member and WAH Nails CEO Sharmadean Reid, “IGC is about fashion, style and having fun times with my mates all around the world, from Greece to Jamaica, Paris and of course, our three home cities of London, New York and Los Angeles.”
To further foster that sense of community, Nike Women and the International Girl Crew members are hosting a pop-up NikeiD Studio in New York City from August 17 through August 20. On top of being able to use the NikeiD builder to create a custom pair of sneakers, attendees will have full access to a nail art bar and symposiums hosted by various IGC members.
Check out the New York pop-up shop at Ludlow Studios next week, and shop the collection online starting on August 16th.
