Teyana Taylor Adds Some Spice To a Reebok Classic In New Campaign

Reebok is kicking off it's new year with a not-so-surprise choice for brand ambassador: Teyana Taylor.
Today the brand took it back to the days of Flashdance as they revealed images of Taylor in the Reebok Classic Freestyle Hi sneaker as it readies for a revamped rerelease. The singer, dancer and actress wears both red and black pairs of the leather sneakers in the colorful spread.
Introduced in 1982, the Reebok Classic Freestyle Hi was the first fitness sneaker specifically designed for women. This month, the brand will release the shoes again in the original black, white and red colorways.
Taylor, who became the talk of social media last year after appearing in Kanye West’s “Fade” music video, seems the perfect choice to show off a mix of workout and dance moves in the classic kicks. Plus, she's a storied member of the Reebok family, having released her own version of the classic Reebok Allen Iverson 'Question.' In a video posted on her Instagram, Taylor does some similar moves in an ’80s-inspired workout leotard and leg warmers.
“Reebok has always been a brand that’s been very special to my heart ever since I was young, Freestyles were all I wanted to wear growing up, so it feels like everything’s come full circle with this partnership.
The 5411’s really opened the door for creativity in women’s fashion, it gave permission for sneakers to be feminine. I’m honored to be the face of the Freestyle campaign for everything it stood for yesterday and what it still represents today.”

Todd Krinsky, Reebok’s global vice president of Reebok Classic and entertainment, said Taylor “is a risk-taker who brings her own perspective to every project, and she stands uniquely at the intersection of fashion, music and fitness, which are the core tenets of Reebok Classic.”
Taylor will initially support the re-release of the Freestyle Hi this year with its three OG colorways which are currently available at reebok.com and select retailers nationwide for $90 USD. You can bank on additional colorways coming throughout 2017.
