An Update On The Nike x Virgil Abloh "The Ten" Release
If you were like most of the sneaker world, you were anxiously awaiting Nike x Virgil Abloh's "The Ten" collection release. The deconstructed look of each sneaker was a refreshingly innovative twist. Just this week, our Editor-in-Chief gave us an up close and personal look at the Off-White Air Max 90 silhouette in her latest Sneaker Diary. Swooning at the whole collection is an understatement.
Tens of thousands of fans begin preparing for the global release. This started with online draws for a chance to grab the Complexcon "Shoe of the Year", along with the other pairs in the collection. Our anticipation was put on hold as Nike cancelled their online draw of "The Ten". A statement from Nike shortly followed all the commotion in the e-streets.
“Due to technical issues caused by overwhelming demand for “The Ten” collection, we have made the decision to cancel the online draw. We apologize for any inconvenience. Those looking to purchase shoes from the collection will have the opportunity to do so via the Nike SNKRS app at a later date.”
This change applies to Nike.com in the US, and the overseas Europe online draws and wholesale retailers remained unaffected by the abrupt change. See a list of the Nike stockists below.
A Swoosh spokesperson assured us that "The Ten" will release on the SNKRS app at a later date, and we will keep our radar on 100 to make sure that our CNK Gang is in the know. Not to mention the fact that there are a number of silhouettes in this collection that we are crushin' HARD for. Stay tuned as we receive more details!
