SneakHER Girls Guide To: Rocking Menswear with Black Market
One thing we pride ourselves on here at CNKDaily is our commonality. We totally get that being a woman often feels like a full-time job and sometimes, you just need a little help, a little bit of instruction and, ultimately, a way to make your life just a LITTLE bit easier. So, we had an idea to tap into our network to pull knowledge and insight from some of our favorite go-getting ladies for a series of "CNK Guides" designed to educate, empower, and help you compliment your already dope SneakHER Style.
From styling summer concert looks to reserving your favorite kicks, we’ve got you covered. This time around, we thought it’d be cool to spice things up a bit and shop the men’s section. Streetwear is as important as the sneakers you rock, but it seems like the guys are always getting all the heat. Let’s fix that. While peering into menswear may seem like a daunting task, it’s pretty easy to incorporate those dope pieces and up your #sneakHerStyle.
For this guide, we tapped one of our favorite local menswear boutiques, Black Market USA. Established in 2012, the streetwear centered shop is located in Dallas, TX and features iconic brands like Stussy, A-COLD-WALL*, Human Made and Alyx.
Let’s get to it.
FOR: THE SPORTY
A-COLD-WALL* is one of those brands that is often overlooked but they never disappoint. The fact that Black Market stocked them made me swoon. For this look, I paired these gorgeous deep plum Calf Zip Pants with a simple black crop top, an ultra-cozy Stussy Sherpa Mock Neck Jacket, and of course, a pair of my favorite kicks. I chose the Element 87 for this look because of its sporty yet casual vibe. Sporty, cute, done. This jacket is perfect for winter in Texas, being able to layer is everything.

FOR: THE BOLD
This Velvet Tiger Stripe Wacko Maria jacket gave me my whole life. Wacko Maria can be described as a Japanese cult brand inspired by music, art and film. They bring that edgy vibe with their slogan, “Guilty Parties.” I paired this bold jacket with a muted tan ACW logo tee to let those stripes gain all the shine. Completed with black high-waisted skinnies (what else?) and a pair of Old Skool Vans, this look turned out really fun. Side note: It may not look like it, but this velvet jacket is really, really warm. Definitely a winter win.

FOR: THE COZY
Tis the season for plaid. Wearing men’s pants outside of sweats is a little intimidating. I’m 5’1, so imagine the struggle of finding any pant that is not a mile long. Luckily, these Stussy Bryan Pants look a-ok cuffed. I instantly fell in love with these red plaid pants. The fit was perfectly cozy with the elastic waistband. Since I had a looser fit on bottom, I opted for a slimmer fit bodysuit on top. If you’re like me, you’re indecisive so…two jacket options. I loved the way the color of the John Elliott Corduroy Down Jacket brought out those accent colors in the plaid. On the other hand, the Human Made Work Jacket definitely pulled together the look with my CDG Converse. Which one do you like better?

When shopping men’s streetwear, I’ve got three tips:
Outerwear and tees are always the best bet, fit wise.
Try-on everything, if possible.
Have fun, but make it fashion.
A huge thank you to Black Market USA for letting me raid their store and providing me with an absolute dream of an experience.
