Out of the Box: CNK Editors Share Their SneakHER Grails

Left: Cassidy Edwards, Managing Editor; Right: Channing Beumer, Founder/EIC

Your average sneaker lover is a hoarder.

There's really no denying it - we have all been there. And, as a Founder/EIC (Channing) and Managing Editor (Cassidy) of CNK, both of us have become pretty comfortable with losing space in our closets. It's a common conumdrum for anyone who considers themselves a collector: boxes stacked up creating colorful towers of the unkown because we certainly haven't memorized the contents of each box and where a specific shoe is located. While finding your weekly sneaker rotation can pose as a challenge with endless stacks, we are undeniably connected to our boxes for some crazy reason.

If you admire creative packaging or just feel that an Off-White or Sean Wotherspoon shoe box serves as a collector's item, there's a uniquely personal story in our heads as to why we hold onto them. That said, do we really need 42 of the same orange Nike box? REALLY? For this very reason, we were excited to team up with The Container Store to talk about why we're exchanging our boxes for something a bit for closet friendly.

Just because we love our kicks, it doesn't mean we can't be more organized, right? RIGHT. Keep scrolling as we dive into the reasons why these clear drop front boxes have become a must AND get a peek at kicks in the process.

We're diving into our top reasons of WHY moving from sneaker boxes to clear drop front boxes has become our go-to.

1. THE GRAB & GO

One of main reasons for putting our sneakers in translucent shoe boxes is for convenience. We literally couldn't count the times we needed to find a particular shoe, but have about 10 boxes that look the exact same. These drop front boxes give us the opportunity to search without the hassle.

2. MAXIMIZE YOUR SPACE

Let's be real with one another. Our shoe boxes take up quite a bit of space. Have you ever seen a Lebron XV box? They don't necessarily fit the best on top of small Vans or Converse box. Risking your stacks to potentially become the leaning tower of sneakHER Piza just won't cut it. While this isn't Tetris and boxes don't just fit how they are always supposed to, the Container Store drop fronts easily stack onto one another for a clean, and often more presentable display.

3. PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT

Sneakers aren't cheap, and we all want a good return on investment. Regardless, if we are wearing our sneakers or keeping them fresh for the next event - shoes need protection too. Our drop front boxes include ventilation holes and a more accessible way to easily keep your sneakers away from the elements (i.e. dust). Keep scrolling for a few sneaks we're definitely looking to keep it tip top shape.
