Nike's Air Society Takes Us To New Heights
On Friday, we took to the streets of Chicago as Nike launched a new series of events for Nike+ members in five cities across the United States. This 8-week program push celebrates two major forces in sport and style: 1) Air Technology and; 2) WOMEN.
Dubbed the Nike Air Society, the series features Nike stores as the ultimate destination to experience Nike Air and cultivate your personal style. We had the opportunity to check out Air Society HQ on Chicago's West Side and, let's just say, it's a woman's dream. Air Society HQ as well as marquee retail locations in selected cities provide opportunities for consumers to engage with local designers, artists, influencers and trainers, as well as with others in their community, and to check out a showcase of women’s sneakers featuring visible Air. We were floored by the fresh crop of Chicago-based designers and boutique owners we witnessed in Chi-town - you'll see more of them later this week.

“Through these Nike Air Society sessions, we are able to link physical and digital experiences and bring consumers closer to the Nike products they love most,” says Kris Young, the VP/GM of North America Nike Direct stores.
The Nike Air Society celebrations will run in Niketown New York, Nike Soho, Nike Chicago, Nike Bucktown and Nike The Grove in Los Angeles through August 31.
Nike Chicago kicked off opening day with a curated shopping experience, styling sessions, a nail and henna bar, open panel discussions with local Chicago influencers, an opportunity to meet creators face-to-face and more. We did everything from shopping the latest in Nike Air to grabbing a green juice while we sat in on a discussion about female entrepreneurship.
Additionally, for the next eight weeks, Nike Master Trainers and yoga and cycling partners near the five store locations listed above will host Sweat Sunday sessions throughout the summer. The local partners will tap into their communities via social media and encourage followers to join the Nike training community.
All events are free and open to Nike+ members via the Nike+ app. For a complete list of events at each Nike store, visit nike.com/la, nike.com/nyc and nike.com/chi.
To become a Nike+ member, search the app store for the Nike+ app and follow the instructions for how to sign up. And, be sure to stay tuned to CNKDaily.com this week as we dive into our Air Society expierence and share some dope style moments with Stylist BeBe Jones and a few Chicago ladies who are making their marks as founding members of Air Society Chi.
