As fall/winter approaches not only have our favorite sneaker brands and clothing lines been debuting their collections but we can't forget about brands like Timberland who actually create footwear that can help get us through the colder months ahead. For those of us who live in climates where it can get below zero, we definitely want some footwear that can keep our feet warm.
This week we had the opportunity to check out Timberland's Fall 2018 launch preview at their flagship store on Michigan Avenue and learn more about their initiative with the non-profit organization Kicks 4 The City.
Of course Timberland will have their iconic 6-Inch boot in rotation forever but they're focusing on a newcomer this season. The Gaiter Boot Collection. This collection brings forth the brand’s rugged aesthetic to a new level of day-to-night style. Each silhouette features three different roll height options – straight up, folded down and loose or buckled tight - so you get the last word on how to wear them. But, we can't forget about apparel which will range from hats, scarfs, t-shirts, sweats, waterproof pullover jackets, and more.
You'll also be able to shop these boots at locations around Chicago such as Notre, Dream Town and more on the September 28th.
It was also great to see two companies come together for the greater good. A huge brand like Timberland partnering with a non-profit like Kicks 4 The City makes the perfect sense. K4TC is charitable organization since 2012 has given more than 70,000 pairs of shoes to those in need. Kicks 4 The City recently put on their third annual Agora Sneakerball which is a black tie event that helps fundraise and distribute sneakers to those who are less fortunate.
The partnership of Timberland and Kicks 4 The City further enhances the values that both companies stand for and so proudly represent – the commitment to doing good. Hence both brands are currently hosting a boot drive from now until November 11th. Donations can be dropped off at Timberland's Michigan Avenue location or at any Dream Town. All brands of men’s, women’s and children’s footwear will be accepted for donation. Things that may seem old to us may feel brand new to someone else, so dust off your boxes and give back to those in need this season.
